Located in the heart of Guernsey’s busy town seafront, the Sawatdi project posed unique challenges due to its difficult location, heavy foot traffic, and limited access. The project involved replacing roof coverings on a protected building that housed four businesses. To ensure these businesses could remain operational, we meticulously coordinated the relocation and upgrading of the external mechanical plant that served them.

All materials were craned onto the roof, and all waste was craned off, requiring precise planning and early starts to avoid disruption to the area. Despite working through the unpredictable winter months, the QCL team ensured there was no water ingress during the project, keeping all businesses trading without interruption.

The result is a fully watertight building with upgraded mechanical plant, providing long term peace of mind for the businesses that rely on it. The client was delighted to see this challenging project completed with minimum fuss, highlighting QCL’s expertise in managing complex commercial works.
